Mahj Styled Policies & Terms
Effective Date: August 2026
These Policies & Terms (“Terms”) apply to services, classes, open play sessions, leagues, tournaments, private events, social events, programs, memberships, bookings, purchases, and other experiences offered by Mahj Styled LLC (“Mahj Styled,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), as well as use of mahjstyled.com (the “Site”) and the Mahj Styled Loft (the “Loft”).
For purposes of these Terms, a Mahj Styled class, open play session, league, tournament, social event, private event, or other in-person or virtual program may be referred to individually as an “Event.”
By registering for, purchasing, booking, or participating in an applicable Mahj Styled offering, you acknowledge that you have reviewed and agree to these Terms, including the Cancellation & Refund Policy and Participant Code of Conduct.
Certain Events, services, memberships, packages, or purchases may include additional or offering-specific terms disclosed at the time of registration or purchase (“Offering-Specific Terms”). Offering-Specific Terms are incorporated into these Terms. If an Offering-Specific Term directly conflicts with these Terms, the Offering-Specific Term controls solely with respect to the applicable offering.
Registration, Payment & Cancellations
1. Registration, Booking & Payment
Registration is required for Mahj Styled Events unless otherwise stated. Space may be limited and is generally available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Submission of a booking request does not guarantee availability. A booking is confirmed only when accepted by Mahj Styled and any required payment or deposit has been received.
Pricing is subject to change until a registration or booking is confirmed.
Registrations are valid only for the participant named in the registration unless transferred in accordance with these Terms.
2. Classes, Open Play, & Public Events
Unless Offering-Specific Terms provide otherwise, the following cancellation policy applies to individual classes, open play sessions, workshops, socials, and other public Events that are not leagues, multi-session programs, tournaments, or private Events.
48 Hours or More Before the Event
A participant who cancels at least 48 hours before the scheduled start time may choose:
A Mahj Styled credit equal to 100% of the amount paid for the canceled registration; or
A refund to the original payment method, less a 10% cancellation fee.
The registration may instead be transferred to another eligible participant at no charge by notifying Mahj Styled of the substitution.
Less Than 48 Hours Before the Event
A registration canceled less than 48 hours before the scheduled start time is non-refundable and ineligible for credit.
The registration may be transferred to another eligible participant at no charge if Mahj Styled is notified of the substitution.
No-Shows
Failure to attend without cancellation or transfer is a no-show. No-shows are non-refundable and ineligible for credit.
3. Mahj Styled Credits
Unless otherwise stated when issued, a Mahj Styled credit:
Is equal to the dollar amount specified when issued;
May be applied toward an eligible future Mahj Styled offering;
Has no cash value and may not be redeemed for cash;
May not be transferred to another person without Mahj Styled's approval; and
Is subject to any expiration period disclosed when the credit is issued.
Use of a credit remains subject to availability and the registration requirements applicable to the new offering.
If the price of the new offering exceeds the available credit, the participant is responsible for the difference.
4. Leagues, Series & Multi-Session Programs
A registration for a league, lesson series, or other multi-session program may be canceled until 48 hours before the scheduled start of the first session.
A participant who timely cancels may choose:
A Mahj Styled credit equal to 100% of the amount paid; or
A refund to the original payment method, less a 10% cancellation fee.
Once the first session begins, the registration is non-refundable and ineligible for credit, regardless of attendance or the number of sessions used.
Missed sessions are non-refundable and do not create an entitlement to a make-up session. Mahj Styled may offer a make-up opportunity at its discretion and subject to availability.
5. Tournaments
Tournament registrations are subject to the following cancellation policy unless Offering-Specific Terms provide otherwise.
More Than 7 Days Before the Tournament
A participant who cancels more than seven calendar days before the scheduled tournament start time may choose:
A Mahj Styled credit equal to 100% of the amount paid;
A refund to the original payment method, less a 10% cancellation fee; or
Transfer of the registration to another eligible player.
7 Days or Less Before the Tournament
A tournament registration canceled seven calendar days or less before the scheduled start time is non-refundable and ineligible for credit.
The registration may be transferred to another eligible player if Mahj Styled is notified of the substitution.
A transferred participant must satisfy any eligibility or registration requirements applicable to the tournament.
6. Private Events, Parties & Corporate Bookings
Private Events may require a non-refundable deposit to reserve the requested date and time.
Unless Offering-Specific Terms, a proposal, or a separate agreement provides otherwise:
14 or More Days Before the Event
The deposit remains non-refundable. Any amount paid in excess of the deposit will be refunded.
The client may instead request one reschedule without a rescheduling fee, subject to availability.
7–13 Days Before the Event
If the client cancels between 7 and 13 calendar days before the Event, 50% of the total Event price is refundable.
Less Than 7 Days Before the Event
If the client cancels less than seven calendar days before the Event, all amounts paid are non-refundable.
A request to reschedule within this period may be accommodated at Mahj Styled's discretion, subject to availability and any applicable rescheduling fee.
7. Weather and Participant Decisions Not to Attend
If an Event proceeds as scheduled, a participant's decision not to attend because of weather, travel conditions, personal circumstances, illness, scheduling conflicts, or other individual considerations does not alter the cancellation policy applicable to that registration.
A participant's decision not to attend an Event that is held as scheduled does not create an entitlement to a refund, credit, rescheduling, or other accommodation.
Participants remain responsible for making their own travel and safety decisions based on their individual circumstances.
8. Cancellation by Mahj Styled
If Mahj Styled cancels an Event in its entirety before it occurs, registered participants will be entitled to a full refund of amounts paid for the canceled Event or, at the participant's election, an equivalent Mahj Styled credit.
Mahj Styled may also offer transfer or rescheduling options as an alternative.
Mahj Styled is not responsible for incidental expenses incurred by a participant in connection with a canceled Event, including travel, lodging, transportation, childcare, or other third-party costs, except to the extent required by applicable law.
Event Administration
9. Event Format & Organizer Discretion
Mahj Styled may make reasonable changes to an Event before or during the Event when necessary or appropriate for its safe, orderly, accessible, fair, or timely operation or in response to circumstances affecting the Event.
Circumstances requiring modification may include participant attendance or changes in headcount, timing constraints, accessibility needs or accommodations, participant needs, venue requirements or limitations, staffing or instructor availability, equipment or space limitations, weather, or circumstances outside Mahj Styled's reasonable control.
Changes may include adjustments to:
Schedules or timing;
Seating or table assignments;
Rotations or rounds;
Gameplay format;
Scoring or administrative procedures;
Event activities;
Room or table configuration; or
Other logistical or operational aspects of the Event.
Mahj Styled will use reasonable efforts to preserve the fundamental nature and purpose of the Event when making such changes.
A reasonable operational or logistical modification does not constitute cancellation of the Event and does not, by itself, create an entitlement to a refund, credit, or other compensation.
Participant Code of Conduct
10. Community Standard
Mahj Styled is committed to maintaining environments in which participants can play, learn, socialize, and compete in a welcoming and respectful manner.
Participants are expected to treat fellow participants, instructors, organizers, volunteers, contractors, host venue employees, and other staff with courtesy and respect and to conduct themselves in a manner appropriate to the Event.
11. Prohibited Conduct
Conduct inconsistent with these Terms includes, but is not limited to:
Harassment, intimidation, threats, bullying, or abusive behavior;
Personal attacks, insults, or discriminatory or demeaning comments;
Aggressive, hostile, or excessively confrontational behavior;
Berating, intimidating, or behaving disrespectfully toward participants, instructors, organizers, volunteers, contractors, or venue employees;
Repeated or material disruption of gameplay, instruction, Event administration, or another participant's experience;
Conduct that materially interferes with another participant's ability to safely or comfortably participate;
Refusal to follow reasonable instructions necessary for the administration or operation of an Event;
Cheating, collusion, intentional manipulation or falsification of scores or results, or other dishonest gameplay or reporting;
Theft, intentional damage, reckless misuse, or unauthorized use of property; or
Other conduct that materially threatens the safety, integrity, fairness, operation, or enjoyment of an Event.
Participants may ask questions, request clarification, respectfully disagree with a ruling or decision, express concerns, and provide constructive criticism or feedback.
Disagreement or criticism alone does not violate this Code of Conduct. The manner in which concerns are expressed and their effect on the Event or other participants may be considered when determining whether conduct violates these Terms.
12. Sportsmanship & Fair Play
Participants must play honestly, demonstrate reasonable sportsmanship, and respect players of different experience and skill levels.
Questions or disputes concerning rules, scoring, seating, tournament procedures, timing, or other Event matters should be directed to the Event organizer or designated staff member.
Mahj Styled or its designated Event official has final authority over the administration of the Event, including rules interpretations, scoring procedures, seating, timing, and other operational determinations.
13. Social & Competitive Events
Mahj Styled offers Events with different purposes, structures, and levels of competition. An Event may prioritize social play, learning, accessibility, community, competition, or participation by players of varying experience levels.
Participants are responsible for reviewing the published description of an Event before registering.
By participating, a participant agrees to respect the published nature and purpose of the Event.
A preference for a different format, level of competition, rules structure, or method of administration does not entitle a participant to require Mahj Styled or other participants to conduct the Event differently.
14. Solicitation & Commercial Activity
Without Mahj Styled's prior authorization, participants may not use a Mahj Styled Event, facility, participant list, directory, online group, communication channel, or other Mahj Styled community resource to:
Advertise or promote an outside business, commercial event, organization, product, or service;
Solicit customers or participants;
Distribute promotional or marketing materials;
Recruit participants for outside commercial activities; or
Collect or use participant contact information for outside marketing or solicitation.
This section does not prohibit ordinary social conversation, personal recommendations, or noncommercial community interaction.
15. Arrival, Check-In & Event Access
Participants must comply with published arrival, check-in, and Event start times.
Unless Mahj Styled authorizes otherwise, registration does not provide access to an Event space, check-in services, instruction, staff assistance, or other Event services before the published access or check-in time.
Late arrival does not entitle a participant to additional instruction, extended gameplay, replacement rounds, modified seating, or other accommodation for portions of an Event missed because of the participant's late arrival.
Participants must comply with reasonable access and facility instructions issued by Mahj Styled or host venue staff.
16. Host Venues
Events held at independent venues remain subject to reasonable venue rules and requirements.
Participants must treat host venue employees, property, and other guests in accordance with the standards established by these Terms.
Mahj Styled may consider conduct observed by or reasonably reported by host venue personnel when administering these Terms.
17. Enforcement and Removal
Mahj Styled may take reasonable action when it determines that participant conduct violates these Terms or materially threatens the safety, integrity, fairness, operation, or enjoyment of an Event.
Depending on the nature and severity of the conduct, Mahj Styled may:
Issue a warning;
Direct the participant to stop or modify the conduct;
Reassign seating or table placement;
Restrict participation in part of the Event;
Disqualify the participant from gameplay, scoring, awards, or prizes, when applicable; or
Require the participant to leave the Event.
Mahj Styled is not required to issue a warning before taking action when the nature or severity of the conduct warrants immediate intervention.
A participant removed from or disqualified from an Event because of a violation of these Terms is not entitled to a refund or credit.
18. Future Participation
Mahj Styled may decline, cancel, limit, or restrict a person's future participation in Mahj Styled Events or programs when Mahj Styled reasonably determines that doing so is appropriate to protect the safety, integrity, fairness, operation, community, or enjoyment of its Events.
In making that determination, Mahj Styled may consider prior conduct at Mahj Styled Events and conduct in interactions with Mahj Styled participants, instructors, staff, contractors, volunteers, or host venues.
Nothing in these Terms requires Mahj Styled to offer future services or accept a future registration from any person, subject to applicable law.
If Mahj Styled accepts payment for a future Event and subsequently cancels that registration under this section before the Event begins, the amount paid for that canceled registration will be refunded.
The Mahj Styled Loft
19. Loft Reservations & Use
Loft classes, open play sessions, table reservations, packages, memberships, and other experiences are subject to availability and applicable booking requirements.
Guests must:
Observe the applicable reservation period;
Treat the Loft, furnishings, equipment, neighboring property, and other guests with reasonable care and respect;
Comply with applicable building and Loft rules; and
Follow reasonable instructions regarding use of the space.
Mahj Styled may limit or prohibit outside food or beverages for particular Events or circumstances.
To the extent permitted by law, a participant may be responsible for reasonable repair or replacement costs for Mahj Styled property damaged through that participant's intentional misconduct, reckless conduct, or negligent misuse.
20. Packages & Prepaid Sessions
Unless Offering-Specific Terms provide otherwise:
Packages and prepaid session bundles are non-refundable;
Packages expire 365 days after purchase;
One applicable session is deducted for each completed booking; and
A session associated with a cancellation made within the applicable cancellation period or a no-show is forfeited.
21. Memberships
Membership benefits apply only while the membership is active.
Unless Offering-Specific Terms provide otherwise:
Monthly memberships automatically renew each billing cycle;
A monthly membership may be canceled before its next renewal and remains active through the end of the then-current paid billing period;
Quarterly and annual memberships are paid in advance and are non-refundable; and
Unused membership time does not entitle the member to a partial refund or credit.
Repeated booking and nonattendance, misuse of membership benefits, or violation of these Terms may result in reasonable restrictions on membership privileges or termination of the membership.
Purchases & Other Policies
22. Merchandise
Unless otherwise stated at purchase, merchandise is final sale except when an item is defective, damaged upon receipt, or incorrect.
A customer requesting a remedy for a defective, damaged, or incorrect item must notify Mahj Styled within seven days after delivery and provide the order number and reasonable documentation of the issue.
Upon confirmation of the issue, Mahj Styled will provide an appropriate replacement or refund.
Returns are not accepted solely because of personal preference, ordinary color variation, or dissatisfaction with a non-defective item.
23. Digital Products
Digital products, downloads, printables, guides, and similar products are non-refundable once access has been provided, except where otherwise required by law.
24. Gift Cards
Gift card sales are final and non-refundable.
Gift cards do not expire except as otherwise permitted or required by applicable law.
25. Photography & Video
Photography and video may be taken during Mahj Styled Events for business, educational, promotional, and social media purposes.
A participant who does not wish to appear in photographs or video should notify Mahj Styled before the Event or upon arrival. Mahj Styled will make reasonable efforts to accommodate the request.
26. Accessibility & Accommodations
Participants who require a reasonable accommodation are encouraged to contact Mahj Styled in advance when practicable so that appropriate arrangements can be considered.
Mahj Styled may adjust seating, timing, room configuration, gameplay logistics, or other operational aspects of an Event when reasonably necessary to provide an accommodation.
27. Personal Property
Participants are responsible for their personal belongings.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Mahj Styled is not responsible for personal property that is lost, stolen, misplaced, or damaged during or in connection with an Event.
Participants must exercise reasonable care when using property belonging to Mahj Styled, a host venue, or another participant.
Website & General Legal Terms
28. Intellectual Property
Mahj Styled's original branding, logos, written materials, lesson materials, course content, graphics, photographs, videos, educational resources, and designs are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Except for ordinary personal, noncommercial use or as otherwise authorized by Mahj Styled, Mahj Styled content may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, sold, republished, commercially exploited, used to provide commercial instruction, or represented as another person's work without permission.
Materials owned by third parties remain the property of their respective owners.
29. Website Use
The Site may not be used:
For unlawful purposes;
To interfere with its operation or security;
To attempt unauthorized access to restricted systems, accounts, or information; or
To transmit malicious or unlawful content.
Mahj Styled may restrict access when reasonably necessary to protect the Site, Mahj Styled, or its users.
30. User-Submitted Content & Feedback
By voluntarily providing Mahj Styled with content for publication or promotional use, including a testimonial, review, photograph, or other submission, you represent that you have the right to provide that content and authorize Mahj Styled to use it for the purpose for which it was submitted.
Nothing in this section transfers ownership of a participant's intellectual property to Mahj Styled.
31. Communications
Mahj Styled may send communications reasonably necessary to administer registrations, bookings, purchases, memberships, Events, or other services.
Mahj Styled may send promotional communications when permitted by applicable law and the recipient's communication preferences.
Unsubscribing from promotional communications does not prevent Mahj Styled from sending transactional or administrative communications relating to an active registration, purchase, booking, or account.
32. Third-Party Services & Venues
Mahj Styled may use third-party payment processors, booking platforms, venues, contractors, technology providers, and other service providers.
Except to the extent required by applicable law, Mahj Styled is not responsible for the independent acts, omissions, content, policies, privacy practices, or systems of unaffiliated third parties.
33. Assumption of Risk
Participation in in-person Events involves ordinary risks associated with travel, shared spaces, social gatherings, physical premises, equipment, food and beverage service, and interactions with other individuals.
By voluntarily participating, a participant acknowledges and assumes the ordinary and reasonably foreseeable risks inherent in the activity, except to the extent such risks cannot lawfully be assumed or waived.
34. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Mahj Styled LLC and its owners, employees, instructors, contractors, and agents will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages arising out of or relating to the Site, an Event, or Mahj Styled services.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability to the extent such liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
35. Indemnification
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, a participant or user agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Mahj Styled LLC and its owners, employees, instructors, contractors, and agents from third-party claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and reasonable expenses arising from that person's unlawful conduct, intentional misconduct, violation of these Terms, or infringement of a third party's rights.
36. Privacy
Use of the Site and Mahj Styled services is also subject to the Mahj Styled Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
37. Age Requirements
The Site is intended for individuals age 13 or older.
Participation by a minor in an Event may require registration, permission, presence, or supervision by a parent or legal guardian as specified for the applicable Event.
38. Changes to These Terms
Mahj Styled may revise these Terms from time to time. The “Last Updated” date identifies the current version.
Unless otherwise required by law or agreed by the parties, the cancellation, refund, and other material participation terms applicable to a completed registration are those in effect when the registration was completed.
Changes to these Terms apply prospectively to registrations completed after the revised Terms become effective.
39. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by law or, if necessary, severed, and the remaining provisions will remain in effect.
40. No Waiver
Mahj Styled's failure or delay in enforcing a provision of these Terms does not waive its right to enforce that provision or any other provision in the future.
An exception or accommodation made in one instance does not create an obligation to provide the same exception or accommodation in another instance.
41. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.

Agreement
By completing a registration, booking, purchase, or other transaction for which acceptance of these Terms is required, you acknowledge that you have had an opportunity to review and agree to these Policies & Terms, including the applicable Cancellation & Refund Policy and Participant Code of Conduct.
